Awning Lighting

Greetings fellow caravan people. Once again we need to knock upon the door of your knowledge and experience. Fouldsy and I have been discussing the best way to light a full awning, needless to say we have yet to agree, and I fear as the evening progresses into a second bottle of chardonnay we are unlikely to do so, so over to you folks, how do you light yours? Obviously Lord B your footmen will stand in each corner with a decorative lantern, but what about the rest of you?

Hi,

How best to light an awning - three ways that I know of:

1. A large bottle of BBQ lighter fluid sprayed round the mud skirt and a match.

2. My friend Richard bought a large halogen lamp heater, and thought it would make a good awning heater (for an Eriba fest last winter). Well I've seen less red light in the Zeedijk in Amsterdam.

3. What we use - a 5 watt fluorescent strip light in each corner - plenty bright enough

Hi

The light on the outside of the caravan is not bright enough for me so I use a table lamp placed on a table and plug it into the external socket.

Similar to Lisa, except I run a cable form the external socket to an overhead light supported by the awning roof rail-gives a better spread of light
