ive got quick release poles in my awning our van is pitched permanantly all year round but several times the poles have collapsed is this a safety device so the ploes dont snap?
 
We had a bradcot type pole but of German decent, they never collapsed in any sort of wind, infact the poles bent first, seems to me the quick release has lost its grip, you may need to change the poles we did when ours were bent, try the awning company or a dealer that supplies the same awning.
