Awning Rail Protector

Just wondering if anyone uses one,,are they worth the effort or just a gadget.

On our trip out a couple of weeks ago,,the first this year,,I'd not bothered to clean or lub the awning rail and feeding the awning into the channel was stiffer than I remembered.

Would I have saved myself work if I'd had one of these in.

We saw a tip on the Isabella website about sparying the rail with Aquatex just before you feed the awning through and it really does work a treat. Always carry a can now. As for the protector, I have never used it but a guess it could keep a lot of the crud out that gathers over winter. Maybe more worth considering for the offside.

Oh yes Thingy,,I do have an awning rail spray and an awning cleaning brush,,my only excuse is that as it was our first outing for 6 months my brain just wasn't in caravaning mode. (I'm a slow learner)

Protector could be helpful but not really a must have piece of kit. We keep the small brush and the lub in the caravans odds and sods box which stays in the van. So it’s alwsys available if/when required.

A follow on question,,,

Can I leave it in when travelling, as that's when most of the crap gets in,,,spray from rain and road.
