Awning size

Does anyone know if I had an awning that was slightly too big for my van would it matter, would it still fit ok. The size I need if 975cms. I have been offered one for 996cms. Would I be able to make this fit ok.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Melanie

A lot of awning manufacturers do the following sizes amongst others:-

950 - 975 cms

975- 1000 cms

If was buying new for you caravan I personally would go for the larger size , for a better fit and to take better account of larger ground drops.

You don't say what model the awning is but I suspect you will be ok. Very few awnings actually measure to the last cm.

Cheers

Alan

Were you choosing an awning from makers, NR Awnings and wanted size 975, you would choose the 960-990 model. That's their recommended size to cover every length of van from 960cm up to 990cm. If the one you've been offered is 996cm, that's only a couple of inches more. I would take a change on it being OK. Better to be a bit big than too short.

Did I say 'change' - I meant chance.
