How I see it is Jason wants to extend his business by cleaning awnings. He asked for anyone who has an old awning who was prepared to let him do research on whether this is feasible and this Val A was prepared to do.

He posted his website, I believe, so that people would see he was a genuine company and not Joe Bloggs, Rag and Bone man.

I also believe he asked for old awnings to save him precious time in rummaging through rubbish skips or landfill sites.

Sorry Sadie but Jason will always have an unproven record if he fails to aquire old awnings to test out his company's methods and he's hardly likely to go skulking about in the dead of the night on campsites cutting out one square metre of peoples awnings to do this ;O)

I hope all goes well for him and Val A gets a nice refurbished awning back for her endevours and trust.

Mr. Darling loves the entreprenurial types like Jason, they pay the bankers their bonus's.

I agree that Euro has indeed raised many points and this is a public forum but as I went to some lengths to explain earlier in this thread as far as I'm concerned no business yet exists to be promoted either on this forum or anywhere else.

A look back through the posts and comments will in fact show that where in my opinion Jason had tried to promote his business I edited his post so that it didn't happen. I also emailed Jason to explain the position regarding advertising or promoting businesses on PCv forum and referred him to forum etiquette.

I'm beginning to wonder why there seems to be such concern because someone asked for help on this forum which meant that some members get something for nothing at their own risk.

There seems to be some sort of resentment because Jason is trying to test the viability of cleaning awnings.

If Jason ends up cleaning awnings on a commercial basis i.e. for money then he is aware that he wont be allowed to promote his business on this forum.

If he damages the awnings that he's testing his methods out on then that's a matter for him and the owner of the awning to sort out, it's not my problem and it's not Euro's.

My first posting on this thread was to ascertain that awnings were cleaned at the owners risk and those who are providing awnings know this if they have read the posts.

If Euro has some sort of axe to grind or a point to prove then fine, it's a public forum but any points that are made even if they are valid seem to have become entangled in some sort of attack on me personally if the mentions of me in his latest post are anything to go by.

Euro mentions 'silly comments' that I'm supposed to have made when if he had read my post he would see that I was quoting Nigel and trying to stop Nigel from posting personal comments which could lead to arguments by asking Nigel not to take any notice of Euro.

Euro then went on to ask me to explain what fabrics I'd use LP85 Seam Sealant on or where I'd use the custom made UV stable C3-305.

Do what???? I'm not cleaning the awnings!

Lastly Euro went on to assert that 'Parksy is not bothered'

Well at least Euro got one thing right at last!

I'm not sure but I think it might be something to do with your earlier post where you wrote :

I am enjoying this debate, I think it should be allowed to continue, at least until Val.A gets her awning returned and lets us all know the results,

I consider many awnings to be a sizable investment for the owners.

Cleaning half a dozon or a dozen awning doesn't mean that the procees is good for all awning or that the proofing and cleaning agents will not damage the waterproofing or that the proofing used in the cleaning process will last any length of time.

Happy-Lappy hilights a point I was getting at

" at least until Val.A gets her awning returned and lets us all know the results "

With respect to Val, does she know which fabrics her awning is made from and what coating or proofing was on it. At may be clean, but how long will the proofing last?

There are far to many questions to be covered for what can be an expensive part of your caravanning equipment that could end up with a worrse waterproofing and a reduced life.

What Happ-Lappy says about Val reporting back, becomes an endorsement if Val or others give glowing sattisfactory reports without the full facts of what was used on the awnings and what works on all awnings.

Spend around

Just to let all you doubters and negative thinkers know, I received my awning back from NOVASAIL this week.

After all the warnings from some of you, I opened it with some trepidation, but sorry to tell you, it is like new....No tears, no damaged windows no damage whatsoever....its just like new.

The service from the firm was first class... picked up and delivered when they said it would be...couldnt be faulted.

Sorry to disappoint Highlander, Trev, Euro and all you other whingers!!!

Very pleased for you Charlie, no one said you wouldn't get the awning back clean!

But your silly smaug post still doesn't tell us what your awning is made of, what proofing has been used and if it suitable or durable or fit for all awnings or if in the long run the awning will have been damaged.

And do we know about the cost and what happens when an awning has damage or gets damaged when the cleaner gets it.

I mentioned "Endorsement" earlier in the thread. Still there is no Track record and no knowledge as to what has actually been done to the awning/s tested.

You've missed the points completely Charlie, but have a happy Christmas.
