Hi Phillip
We have a porch awning similar to a Sunncamp 260 its easy to put up single handed and we find it suitable for our needs for weekends. There is a new version of this made by Kampa which has vertical poles which sit close to the 'van side and, as far as I am aware, solve the problem of wind flapping the sides closest to the 'van. The only other problem we have had with ours is that although nearly all of the seams are heat sealed, the seam next to the awning bead is not (don't ask me why) but the manufacturers are up front about it and tell you to get some seam sealer and run it round this seam. We hadn't done this and had leaks the first time we used it in torrential rain.
However we then followed the instructions and haven't had any problems since.
I'm sure you will get lots more replies from people who know a lot more than I, but we have certainly found ours is fit for the purpose.
