B & B -CALAIS & DOVER

Having spent the winter in Spain, we decided to leave our caravan in storage in France.

We are hoping to spend September there, but living in the north of England, we can't travel from home to our storage site in one day! We have therefore decided to spend a night in either Dover or Calais en route.

Does anyone have any recommendations for bed & breakfast at either of these places, please?

We would appreciate any info. we can obtain. Thanks Stephen

I'd stay on the French side - you seem to get off to an earlier start in the morning, and really feel you are on holiday. In the Daily Telegraph Travel supplement yesterday there are a couple of b & b's listed, all within an hour or so of Calais.

1. La Riveierette ( www.bandbnorthernfrance.com)

2. La Boheme at Zutkerque http://pagesperso-orange.fr/sonia-la-boheme/)

Both have double rooms available from 47 euros.

I am sure there are more, and you can find others on Gites de France (look on the Chambre d'Hotes page) or the Logis de France - all these are more personally run than the chain hotels.

You could aso find a budget hotel, such as the B&B Chain, Premiere Classe, Etap, or similar - basic but fine for an overnight stay.
