In most EV's if you lift the accelerator, the vehicle effectively coasts unless you have previously selected the "B" mode ( or what evr its called in your particular vehicle) which automatically begins to apply th e regenerative braking to simulate engine braking.

Would it go straight from a drive mode to park mode if there is no neutral? That doesn't seem safe?
The MG which started this thread has what are conventional modes on its rotary controller with...PRND. Given there are reportedly 26 million EV globally I would have expected to read some reports of unsafe modes of operation.

My Kia was warranted for 7 years from purchase. It was one year old at purchase so the warranty went to 2029 for me. Had I sold it privately or traded it to a Kia dealer a new owner would have received all the benefits to 2029 including infotainment updates. But since I part exchanged it to another dealership any subsequent owner has the standard Kia 7 years from first registration iE 2028 not 2029.

My comment wrt “rotary gear selection” related to the selling advert which described the rotary knob that enabled the standard auto modes to be selected.
It seems to me the EV terminology is not the same as ICE. Auto mode? I suppose any car with two pedals is an auto. Son’s EV can be used one pedal as discussed earlier. I wonder how soon the brake lights come on😜

Your car has the standard auto modes in so far as it has PRND. That’s all I was referring to, again in the context of the darned advert for the MG that you posted. There will then be other control modes affecting the driving of the car such as Eco, Normal, Sport etc But as Prof and Tobes have said there are variations between makers.
