Just spent 10 days on a lovely caravan club site in Oxfordshire its well run, clean, wardens are great, but we've come to the conclusion that most caravaners with children cannot read, this is because on arrival and booking in to the site you are given an information leaflet and in this leaflet it clearly states TO ALL PARENTS, due to the fact that this site now has a play field NO BALL GAMES SHOULD BE PLAYED BETWEEN CARAVANS AND NO BIKES TO BE RIDEN AROUND CARS OR CARAVANS these messages are also printed on the notice boards in the toilet blocks and yet no sooner had we set up pitch we find kids & their parents playing ball games between & behind caravans, & if You notice they seem to move away from their own vans & play around other peoples,I WONDER WHY! on one occasion this resulted in my car being pounded by a ball, needless to say I was not happy.I have written to the Caravan Club in the past on this subject and asked who's responibility it is if my car or caravan gets damaged, of course the awnser is THE CLUB ACCEPTS NO LIBILITY so not only am I paying to stay on their site it seems there's a good chance i'm paying to have my outfit damaged as well, Thanks fellow caravaners! We also had Teenaged kids grouping together hanging around the toilet blocks til late at night. I walked past a gang of them in the pitch dark at about 11:15pm and overheard one lad saying not to worry there's NO CCTV on this site, making me think there were up to no good. So parents why take teenage kids to this type of site when you know there's nothing at all for them to do at night. I have certainly seen an increase in bad behavoir and yobbish attitudes on club sites over the last 5 Years or so, & its not just the kids, we've noticed more groups of adults i.e. 3 families in one caravan with two pup tents, creating a noise nuicence until late at night surely the Club has got to start limiting the numbers to a van or even a pitch and enforcing a time of say 10:30pm to quiten down & break up big groups from outside or else caravaning going to become more like a substute for an 18-30's type holiday in the future?
