Bailey 460/4 Truma Water heater problem

Wonder if anyone else has had the same problem with the Truma water heater in a Bailey 460/4. When it is turned on on electricity it heats up fine till the thermostat cuts it out, but then it doesnt heat up again. Turn it off for 5 mins and it resets fine but still only heats up once. Previously I could leave the hot tap running for ages and the water would still be hot, now there is barely enouigh to wash a bowl of dishes!. Am told that the thermostat is part of the heater element and needs to be replaced as one, am loathed to spend £70 for a new element assembly until I am sure it will solve my problem. Can anyone give me the benefit of their experience on this one??

Hello Peter,
Logically either the thermostat is faulty (they are not adjustable) or the element is faulty, either way it needs an element change. - sorry
