Bailey Caravan chest of drawers removal

Hi

Sorry for the missing previous post.

I have a 2010 Bailey Pegasus 462 which was fitted with the optional lounge chest of drawers by the dealer. I would like to remove the chest but cannot discover how to remove the drawers so gaining access to the two plastic screw/bolts. I have tried to access them from underneath via the dropdown door and after some effort found one screw is only finger tight and so easy to remove, the other is so tight that even though I can just get a mole grip to it I can hardly turn it, so back to the original question, how do I remove the drawers? I have pushed, squeezed and prodded just about everything without success.

Thanks for any help out there.

If the Pegasus drawers are the same as Pageant ones, then if you look underneath the drawer there should be a small white (I think) squarish button about half way along the side of the drawer runner. You have to press this in and lift the drawer body at the same time. I find it easier to do one side at a time.

Hi

if the sme as Ranger/Olympus you don'nt need to remove the drawers, mounting screws accessed by lifting bolster cushions, 2 screws through above bed slat runners, remove these and chest will lift away ( know this because just fiited one!)

Re Bailey Pegasus 462 2011 (Mark 1) 'Optional Front Drawer Removal'

Yes I found after looking this subject up on Practical
Caravan forum that some of the advice was misleading for this particular van.
After trying various methods suggested to remove the drawers from unit
unsuccessfully, I managed to be able to just get my arm between the drawers and
locate 2 plastic wing nuts, that fortunately were not over tightened, and
hey-presto. I note there are 3 locating points pre-installed in van, so it
would only take 5 minutes to move them if you wished.

Incidentally our existing van has been damaged with
hailstones June 28th 2012 and the cost of repairs which entails
complete replacement of all panels we have been quoted £10,500

Therefore it is an insurance ‘write off’ and our insurance
company has made a reasonable offer, which we can put to our new van. Hence
this is why I wanted to remove the drawers as these are invaluable and we would
not be without. Only used the full make
up table a couple of times.

Presently looking out for good Pegasus Genoa to
replace.
