I have similar problems to others with condensation on my 2005 series 5 bretagne garage door and the kids bunk beds getting wet, but more worryingly I also have a leak from the garage door seal that I cannot cure. We noticed it the first time out this year in March, I know it wasn't there when we went to Longleat in October 2007 but during our first trip in March to a CL in Framlingham I noticed there was a large wet patch in the rear by the garge door under the lino. I did a watering can leak test with my wife inside, and the water just poured in through the bottom of the rubber seal. We taped the door up with duck tape and tested it again and it doesn't leak when the whole of the door join gap is taped off, so we know that it's the door that is causing the problem. I have tried adjusting the door, but there is no easy mechanical way of moving or adjusting the door closer to the seal, I have managed to move the latch and striker plate closer together using packing and spacers to give more pressure on the seal but still it leaks. My local Bailey agent suggested that I use a hammer to tap the alloy door surround out(that the seal locates onto)to bring it closer to the seal therefore making the seal tighter, but this hasn't worked either. He says that is all they would do if we took it to them and they charge £60 per hour for labour ! In desperation I have also used bathroom sealer on the inside of the rubber seal to make sure that the water doesn't get under the seal and over the alloy door surround....it still leaks ! I phoned Bailey direct who could not have been more unhelpful, the van is out of warranty and they just didn't want to know....this might be a major factor when I consider changing vans in the near future.
Has anyone else had the same problem, I am at my wits end to know how to cure this !
