bailey pageant series 7 damp?

is our new caravan is showing signs of damp as there is a white residue, only on the wood coloured corner panels around the bathroom (not in the bathroom), by the fire and the wardrobe. there is no residue on the larger wood coloured panels only on the corners. there is no smell of damp in the van or from the residue.any ideas please

This is not damp, just the van warming up after a very wet and cold winter.

Give the wood a good clean with a mild detergent and a damp cloth, not wet!! and then a good wax polish.

the white residue is a well known occurance with bailey and especially series 7 pageants. there is a dealer bulletin produced by bailey explaining the occurance. ask your supplying dealer for a copy which explains why it is there and how to removen it.

Hi Robert.

Damian is correct this is not damp, we have a series 7 and had the same happen on exactly the same places. It is as he says the van only warming up after being stored during the winter. It cleans of no problem with a cloth. So nothing to worry about .

Dougie......

This is not unique to Baileys by the way - our last Lunar had the same problem and was easily put right by cleaning as described
