Bailey Pursuit 430-4 – Toilet Flush Not Working

Hi all,

Hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a problem I’m having with the toilet flush on our Bailey Pursuit 430-4.

The flush button no longer operates the pump. I've already tried a few things:
  • Checked for a fuse – from what I can tell, this model doesn’t have a dedicated fuse in the cassette area. I believe the flush shares a fuse with another circuit (possibly water or lighting?), but nothing is obviously blown in the main panel.
  • I used a multimeter on the wires going to the flush pump (accessed via the sticker covering the PCB terminals).
  • I get a voltage reading there, but it's lower than 12V (haven't checked battery state yet), and when I press the button, the voltage drops down or less.
  • The pump doesn’t move at all — no buzzing, clicking, or signs of life. The pump (wet end) does move freely and isn't seized.
  • No lights dim, and everything else in the van seems to be functioning normally.
I haven’t yet tested the pump with a direct 12V feed from the leisure battery, but that’s next on the list.

A couple of questions for the experts:
  • Is there a known shared fuse or relay for the toilet flush on this Bailey model?
  • Does this sound more like a failed PCB, or a dead pump motor?
  • Could it be a wiring issue (e.g. poor negative return) causing the voltage to drop under load?
Would appreciate any wiring diagrams, known fault tips, or suggestions before I start pulling things apart!

Cheers,
Sam

We need the toilet model . it can be rotted wires inside the cassette area. On some toilets there is a small pcb at the back of the cassette locker (C262) with a relay and a polyfuse( a positive temperature coefficient thermistor which will go high resistance in an overcurrent situation) and a reed switch which indicates when the cassette is full. the wires to and from this pcb and the pcb itself can come corroded, particularly at joints , causing the loss of voltage at the flush switch pcb. attached is a schematic I reconstructed when troubleshooting various toilets.

I believe its a C260 Ian.

I can't see anything specifically in the cassette area, just a number of wires and some plastic covers. Would I not still get some kind of voltage on the pump wires when pressing the PCB button though, no?

Not sure if the C260 is the same as the 262 but on some suppliers the reed pcb for the C260is the same as the 262 the pcb is behind a plastic panel and the back of the cassette locker , secured by two screws. and not if there is a high resistance joint/wire/pcb track.
