We are on our second ranger 500/5 - brilliant van with few problems. Check the water pipes as Bailey had a problem with contaminated plastic water feed pipes - something to do with the sun affecting the chemicals within the pipe make up. The water taste was foul. Also if secondhand check all windows at top as hairline cracks about 3/4 inch long occur near the hinges on the extreme corners. If they are evident insist on the windows being changed under the warrenty. Apart from these two points I cannot think of any other problems. These defects were common throughout the Bailey range of vans and not just the Ranger 500/5. They have now corrected these faults on new vans and they are therefore excellent value.
