Bailey Ranger 500/5 - electrics

If there's anyone out there who can help i'd be very grateful. Have recently bought a Ranger 500/5 and within the first wall cabinet on entry to the van there is a pull cord, which, when operated powers a fan that blows air externally through the plastic vents to the side of the entrance door. I have no idea what this is for, neither has a friend who has had vans for a number of years. It doesn't look like it's an original installation. Any suggestions?

That's a possibility. It did blow warm air initially and then cooled right down. I thought at one point it may have been some kind of awning heater!!! I'm totally new to this as it's my first caravan.

If the two vents are directly behind the fridge, which they propably are, then I would imagine that's what it's for. - You'll appreciate it if you ever go down to Spain etc!!!!
