greetings all,

i've got a bailey ranger 2006 model and very happy with it,

however the only problem and i really do mean the only problem i've had with it it the front window catching in the front panel in the bottom left and right corners, dealer changed front window and moved the lockd forward slightly two years ago and all had been ok until my last outing and now i have got the same problem again, the van's booked in for a service and to have the window looked at, has anyone else ever heard of this problem ?

regards

marky p

Not experienced this problem but Bailey did have a batch of faulty windows during the 2006/7 period. Ours had a few windows with minute cracking to the top corner extremities by the hinges. They have all been changed under warrenty. Could this be causing your problem in that the window has dropped slightly due to the cracking. Take a look at the window tops - the cracks are very small so you will have to take a very close look - not a glancing look.

Another problem with the Ranger was that the front panels tended to crack at high level near the awning rails both sides. Again these are small cracks and have to be looked for. When these cracks were pointed out to me I first thought it was dirt. I would suggest that you examine both front panel at top and all your windows before they get too bad.

hi colin,

cheers for the reply

definatly got no cracks on the window/front panel, this current window was changed in 2008 with the same problem and it's now resurfaced so to speak, going to a different bailey dealer as the one the other year just scratched their head's and couldnt find a problem......... i've got a hunch that the window is touching the front panel when i'm towing for some reason but there we go it's just my thought....

a few reasons for this problem

1. slightly wrong dimensions on the window, being too deep

2. window has slipped down in hinge rail

3. hinge rail on the caravan is too low

It appears for long last that we have a helpful, friendly caravan distributer on the forum - thank God for that. Now we may have some helpful constructive advice.
