We had amost decided on getting a Ranger 460/4 but after going to the NEC on Thursday we are now in a state of confution......

We saw the new Pagent Bordeaux and now have to decide if the extra £2k price tag is worth it we have looked at the spec differance but is the new pageant worth it we dont want to opt for the Bordeaux and then in 12 months feel cheated but then we dont want the niggling feeling of Are we missing out.

But at least we went the NEC and only came back with 2 choices we felt all the others were overpriced for what you got. But an hour flitting between the 2 caravans all help would be greatly apreciated

We have just collected a 2007 Ranger 460/4 .... our 4th Bailey.

When we ordered it in July we didn't know the new shorter Bordeaux was on the cards. If we had we would probably have waited for it.

You wouldn't be dissappointed with either, the choice is yours!

We were set on the Bailey Ranger - lots of space and a good price. Then I saw the separate shower in the Pageant Provence and that swung it for me. Extras like the spare tyre made it worthwhile too although. As we had a fixed price, we went for a 1 year old Pageant rather than a new Ranger.

After an afternoon cleaning out the van, it's as good as new - if fact it's better than some of the ones on display in my local dealership.

Hi david,

We have the ranger 460/4, you have asked for comparisons.

Both models have identical body shells(ie floor, roof.sides same thickness.

We prefered the outside simple water barrels, the series six has the inboard tanks, read a lot of moans from the senator owners about the noisy onboard pumps.

Surprised that the series six Pageants do not share the additional widths that the senators have, this would have been handy, increasing the width off the shower /toilet area ,as we have found out that it is a bit of a tight sqeeze If you wish to use the shower.

Our last pageant had the large rear shower room , which we never used ,So this does not worry us , the fixed bed is a bonus.

The extra two grand difference I suppose it depends on how often you change your vans, For myself buying the Ranger ment less credit payments, the van being a lot lighter means less fuel used towing, meant I could keep my original car.

The Pageant Series 6 Bailey does not have an inbound pump like the Senator it only has an in board pump.

I would think all Series 6 on the same, who told you this?

Hi

We too visited the show last week, bought the Ranger 550/6 gave some thought to the Pagent, very nice, small price to pay for the extras, but with those extras comes the extra weight. I tow with a new shape vectra, copes well with my current van, MTPL of 1250kg, approx 83% with that in mind you have to start looking at larger cars/4x4's (more expense) The Ranger offers what I consider to be a excellent spec for the price and offers everything I need in a caravan and more.

Hi John

It was down to weight for us, we would have loved to have the island bed in the Virgina, but that was too heavy for us.

The Ranger looked very nice and at one stage I was very tempted to this van due to having two children, but we went for the Burgundy.

Hi, Have just placed order for Pageant Bordeaux. I just prefer the appearance, wanted the bigger fridge and microwave and was prepared to pay for it. I didn't like the one big window on the Ranger. Just wondered if the stays would stand the test of time, and also, in low bright evening sun find it useful just to shield off one area without cutting out all the light. Liked the fact that you could fit the Alko secure wheel lock. We could tow either, but in the end it was really the appearance and the larger fridge that won the day. We just felt somehow more at ease with the Pageant colour scheme. It's so personal, but go with that inner voice!
