Hi All

Just thought I'd give you an update we picked up our brand new Sancerre on Friday., All the staff a Chipping Sodbury were great...

Towed straight to site just outside Castle Cary (Somerset) set up very easy, settled in for few days to get used to new van. All I can say is loving it....

Yes the bathroom could be a little bigger but as would normally use facilities on site only use for those occassionaly.

Following other posts via this forum can say found nothing that does not work and I have tested believe me!!!

The LED lightling is just confortable for evening, and the two bulb system on main lights handey when you need addition light. Cupboard space ample only thing I have missed would be drawer space - however we replaced the front cushions with drawer pack which goes a long way. Don't find the wood too dark as the light upholstery brings this down... Off to lunch know as pub at front of site.... have a good weekend all.

Wish all the owners of the sancere happy caravanning.

we have just sold our fixed bed Bailey simular layout to the above but without the rear bathroom.

Reason found the front seats to small to layout on when watching Tv , we ended up watching the tv laying on the fixed bed, we have gone back to old fashioned design were you make the bed up, wasted a lot of hard earned cash finding out our mistake..

We made that mistake too Royston! Ended up swapping our 2007 Ranger 460/4 for a 2008 Pageant Majestic no fixed bed but nice comfy long front seats.

However the Sancerre/Califonia could tempt us back to the fixed bed layout.

i think its magic what bailey have done with the sancerre and the california. its like the wyoming but without the weight and twin axel.

they have shrunk the sideboard and took out the laundry bin in the shower room. the front seats are the same size as my wyoming.

i think it wont be long and they will change the pageants before the senators because of the wood.

They have made the van feel very small and cramped inside to accommadate the fixed bed,you have no living space and a really small fridge.

Hi All

Now then i beg to be different and I will say I love the interior on the series 7. I liked it so much I got a Limousin. The only bug bare I have is lack of workspace. The cupboard space is very good and the fixed bed very confortable indeed. At night with the lighting we find it very cozy. I know its horses for courses and each have their own opinions. I know there are many people who would not have a Baileys and others who will only have a Baileys.

Hi All

Back from our weekend I agree with Jo-Annie, can't wait to go out again.

Both my husband and I found the front seats ample to stretch out on (but then I am vertically challenged at on 5' 2"). Agree with the comment about workspace is tight., but all said still love our choice in van, and as this is our first ever "New" van all in all had good experieince so far....... Long may it last.......... now how many days until we can go out again???

Take care and happy caravaning

Glad you had such a lovely time Di. Tell me, is the front lounge long enough to use as two single beds?

thanks

Hi There,

We have a S7 Provence. We chose the Pageant's because of, rather than inspite of, the interior! Just shows that regardless of what they intended, Bailey have really created a 'marmite' van!

We ordered our's before the Limousin was announced (back in Oct last year), but the layout would not have suited us anyway.

We have only been away a couple of times so far (but will be away both bank holidays). We think the van is great - very well put together, very well specced. The lights are fine and bright for evenings, although the strip lights do give a slightly green tinge.

Work space is slightly limited for meal preparation, but that was the compromise we made in order to get the things we wanted - twin lounges, proper shower cubicle (two young children...)

Hope everyone has a great Bank Holiday (and that the weather holds out...)

Vince.

Got a new Swift last year and very pleased with it, had a look on the Bailey website and I must say the dark wood looks uber cool.

At last! Someone who likes the Bailey wood - even though he is a Swift owner...

We've got an S7 Burgundy, and actually like the colour of the wood. And those LEDs give the van quite a classy look from the outside - they're OK inside too, seem to be less green when warmed up.

We decided to go for the Burg rather than the Sancerre because the cabin is larger, and as we use CC site loos and showers the end washroom would be less useful.

From memory, the Sancerre is on the same platform as the Burgandy, Bretagne and Provence so the length for the end bathroom has to come from somewhere.

On a separate note, lets start the Pageant S7 interior (and the rest of the van for that matter) supporters club.

I like the dark wood.

The LED lights are brilliant and just right for night time reading and TV watching.

The spec is fantastic (especially for the price).

It tows well for the size (competitive weights and std ATC I am sure help).

I think it makes the Senator look old fashioned (sorry for upsetting Senator owners, but it is better than the council house kitchen comment earlier) but as I have said above Bailey give you the choice so why should Bailey get slagged off for offering a choice.

I'll go back to sleep now, rant over.

Hi Mel

I'll measure check the front beds for actual size, if you have children don't think it will be a problem, but as I said I'm only 5' 2" so could lay out on the van spec it gives the front double as 5' 2" x 6' 10" so feel may be to short for most adults. Will update you after I check.

Bo Ho!! not out this weekend and the weather is looking good!

Although I have declared that I don't like the darker wood in the s7 pageants, I don't think its as bad in the layouts with airier cabins - its worse in the layouts where you get it floor to ceiling in the middle of the living / bedroom space.

I fully accept that people will choose it or not and like it or not but I'm not sure I agree that by having a dark interiored pageant and a light interiored senator, Bailey are offering a choice between the two as they are not like with like. I don't have a choice between a senator and pageant but I do between a pageant and a swift charisma / sterling europa for example. Price and weight are increasingly playing a part in peoples choices at he moment with sales reportedly higher in lighter vans / tow cars etc. So the S7 pageants should be flying off the shelves shouldn't they?

It really is of no consequence that some people love it -If less people love it then Bailey had hoped for then they've made a marketing booboo. I've not got a cristal ball, but if I were a betting man I would stick a quid on a) pageant series 8's will have lighter wood interiors and b) be here sooner than planned.

When they arrive I will buy one if SWIFT don't tempt me away from Bailey in the meantime.

When I was looking (last year), I found that Swift group vans were closer to Senator prices and weights yet had nearer to Pageant levels of equipment.

The Bailey prices appear to have be affected by the Euro more this year, perhaps Swift pre bought more bits before the price rises so things appear to be swaying the other way price wise currently. Who knows where things will be in a year or so.

Your right Dan&Paula but the reality is Bailey are a mass market manufacturer - they are not after a niche customers or the marmite effect - they need to have a universal appeal to sell units.

What on the face of it are simple decisions - should we have a plain birch veneer finish or some heavy grained dark brown jungle wood veneer, should we have big handles or little knobs(ooh er) or no handles at all, should we have light carpets or dark carpets etc.

These have the potential to cost manufacturers dear.

My first impression of the s7 pageants is that on the outside they are the best looking vans around. To tow they must be best in class as they are good weights with shocks, ATC and stabiliser. but when you get it there you've got to live in it. The first impression of the living experience is really important and only Bailey and their dealers will know whether they have got their styling decisions right.

Maybe they could tell us?

I want to upgrade from a 2008 Ranger to a Pageant in the next year or so but put off by the styling (and the fact that my last 2 Bailey's have both leaked)

Mat
My Bailey is 2 years old had service at recognised service centres. Due to the famous cracked panels. Bailey approved repair and the service centre owned up to say they repaired it damp and didnt dry it out before repair (you should smell the caravan) Bailey said all was done ok so now with solicitors.

Nothing will convince me Baileys dont leak just read the other caravan forums

Sorry missed original posting, have Sancerre, we saw it originally at the NEC in Feb, purchased at show picked up end of April, been using it all season and still love it, lucky enough to have been out 10 times this year, and still get that sigh of contentment every time I walk in as the first day!!

Couple of niggles but these are only minor and with every van there is compromise!
