Help please, Am on site with my Bailey Senator 5 Indiana 2007.

12 volt lights have started to dim and fade away.

All 240 volt outlets are OK incl Fridge, Water Heater etc.

Had a new charger fitted March service under warranty, could it be this again?

Can't be a fuse as would expect all lights to go out.

Any ideas anyone??

Thanks

Remove one of your battery terminal connectors from your 12volt battery whilst your 12volt lights are on.

If they go out completely then your charger is not charging for some reason and your battery is loosing it's charge

Gafferbill, Will try this later but I would have thought the 12volt lights would go out anyway when u do this.

Hi Paul, regarding the suggestion from Gafferbill, the idea is that the battery charger should be able to power your lights without the battery in circuit. If you remove the terminal and the lights go out you will prove if there is an output from the charger

Thanks to all who responded, have recovered the van where it finally turned out that the charger lead within the rcd box had become detached, how we have no idea. Plugged it back in and normallity was restored.

However do all you Bailey owners know that if you do get a charger fail within the warranty period you will not get a new one until the original is sent back to the manufacturer?

Process can take about 5 days so if you are on tour like I was that's just too bad!

Imagine if this policy applied in the automotive industry?

Well if that's the case, it wasn't in 2004, i was given a replacment charger, sent via post from the dealer, which i fitted myself. While i was fitting it i converted it to plug into a 13amp socket.

Maybe it the dealer?

Ray,

First heard this from local Norfolk dealer in Dereham that I contacted by phone for on site help. Called my own supplying dealer back home who also confirmed this was the required process.
