Bailey Senator water temperature

I am posting this on behalf of a friend as I have Senator, without the pronlem. When he turns on his cold water tap . it will run cold for a very short time then run hot for a minute or so It then reverts to the correct cold temperature . I wonder if anyone else has had this problem and knows the reason/remedy Thanks

Hello Rod,

This sounds like the none return valve fitted to the water heater may have jammed open, so when the the cold tap is opened the pressure in the air cap in the hot tank pushes the hot water into the cold feed pipe and up to the tap. when the pressure equalises, the cold water flow takes over.

The none return valve is there to stop the above from happening. It needs to be repaired for safety.

Rod One,

I had this problem a few years ago. The cold tap in the end washroom ran cold for a very short time, then warm and then cold.

This was if the tap had not been run for a couple of hours. The problem was that for the full length of the caravan the hot and cold water pipes were touching and encased for part of their length in grey insulation to stop the water freezing in cold weather.

Hi Rod one, I agree with Hamer. My dealer even warned me that it would happen and that it was nothing to worry about.
