Hi all, just placed an order for a new Senator Arizona with an expected delivery date of around the end of November, your views on this van would be very welcome. We currently have a fixed bed arrangement( Coachman 530 / 4 ) but find the very small toilet / shower room very restrictive so we are returning to to the end washroom layout but at the cost of once again making up the bed..........................mmmmmmmmmmm you cant win them all, it's a compromise.

Have you not seen the Senator Wyoming - We've just bought a new one from Reads in Blackburn - ( May I say an exceptionally good dealer - when you compare dealerships in the North West )

id love a senator wyoming. we have just bought a grand cherokee but that wont pull it a bit on the limit. i would settle for a senator indiana or even a bailey pagent burgundy. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm there all nice.

id just love a fixed bed making up and putting it away does my head in everyday. we use the site facilities so side fixed bed would be fine.

we have an avondale dart 556/6 godiva special 6 berth new in oct 2005 we dont even use the shower in there.

" we have just bought a grand cherokee but that wont pull it a bit on the limit" would have thought that a grand cherokee would pull almost any uk caravan, the wyoming is out of the question for me as I do not want to venture in to the land of 4x4s ( not knocking them I used to own 1 ) but I now run bi fuel and at 36p a litre for Lpg it makes for cheap motoring.

hi allan, towball weight fine but running at 85% the max we could tow would be 1738 but that is basing it on a 2002 model ours is a 1998 which dont tow as much. the senator max fully loaded is 1714 so we could proberbly do it but then i would have to buy another motor mover for a twin wheeler.

ill see

let us know how you get on.

Hi Allan,

I have a 2004 Senator Arizona we love the van so light and airy inside but the only trouble I have is getting the nose weight down to 70-75Kgs I tow it with a 2001 Peugeot 607 hdi SE. I don't know about the new Arizona but I can only run my van off of propane because of the gas auto changer.

If anyone has any tips to get the nose weight right then it would be appreciated, I have to move awning and polls back to the bathroom door to get it any were near 75kgs.

High unladen noseweight is common on many vans these days. When we picked up our Senator Oklahoma last December the nosewight was over 95kg but the towcar we had at the time only had a 75kg limit. We took the awning and other equipment with us to use as ballast and managed to get the noseweight down to 75kg. However to achieve this we did have to have an alarming amount of kit loaded under the fixed bed and in the rear of the van and the front locker empty apart from one gas bottle. The van did remain stable loaded this way covering over 2500 miles towing in a variety of weather conditions. When we were looking for a new towcar recently something with the capacity to take 100kg on the towball was a major requirement. Many saloon and estate cars make excellant towcars these days but unfortunatly the 75kg noseweight limit is very hard to achieve with many modern caravans.
