Paul, with the greatest respect it matters not if others have had water ingress problems, the only concern you have is that YOU do have the problem, and from the sound of it a serious one which on a van that young would be good grounds for demanding a new van in replacement.

We've got a 12 month old series 6 provence and so far it's bone dry even after spending the weekend up near Morpeth when it rained continuously and torrentially for nearly 2 days and floded the town. We had the service about a week later and the damp test passed with flying colours. Assuming that yours passed its damp test at the 12 month service I'd go and have a severe word with your dealer.

Hi paul, I agree with Dave, I would take the van round to your dealer asap, Sounds like you need a new replacement van,On my second service my Bailey Ranger series 5 year 2006 during their damp check showed up to 36% dampness on the nearside above the side bathroom area, upon investigation a slit was discovered in the rear panel, No sign of any dampness with in the van no smell , At the moment the van is at the dealers waiting to have a new rear panel fitted, believe it or not they are waiting a delivery of awning rails.

Please keep us all posted , makes you wonder what the statistics are per 1000 vans how many are failing.

Paul, wait for Alan to come along, he will give some very good advice. He did with Jo-anne and myself.

Look up under the search facility Alans name and you will see some of his posts.

Dont let the dealer fob you off, check your rights google "sale of goods act quick facts" I think you have a very good case for a new van.

If I had that much damp in a 18 month old caravan all my stuff would be removed when it went back to the dealers with a rejection letter.

Paul,

As Kevin said here I am!

With all due respect the 6th December is a long way off. Clearly damp must have been getting from somewhere for a long time if you now have "black inside" spores fully developed.

What happened with the damp survey at your last service?

Cheers

Alan

Paul, get your high steps out and check the back panel, especially where the top rail is screwed down on each corner. Check the panel isn,t cracked in this area which would give water ingress. Damp testing will only prove the area, if it was done, wasn;t damp at the time of testing. My van was serviced in Feb and I found leaks in March and cracks the cause of said leaks. Van went back to Bailey for a new front, Barrons now Discover didn;t do that kind of repair!!!
