Bathroom shower

I often store stuff in the shower cubicle that would be ruined if water got on it.
Is there something I can do that would mean the shower would have no chance of letting water out, but if I fancied a douche could be quickly changed back again.
I'm concerned that if one of my guitar cases toppled over, it might knock the shower switch to the on position.
Thanks in advance.

Put a strong elastic band over it and around the pipe. Also shower head valve shut off

When towing I always unhook the head and place it in the watering can on the shower tray. I use the can for filling the loo. Maybe a similar placement would solve your issue?

I use one of these shut off valves.
1)Stops shower spray you if tap knocked.
2) can keep mixer on and at correct temp setting. Turn water off at head if soaping up and want to save water.

That’s a useful fitment I will fit one to one of the bathrooms where the shower runs from the mixer taps and if I turn them off to go through the soaping routine it’s a faff resetting them.

The described valve will only work satisfactorily with pressure switched water systems. If its used with switched taps, the operation of the valve will stop the flow of water but the pump will still be activated and if allowed to run without water flow the pump may begin to overheat and damage its own shaft seals leading to premature pump failure.
