Battery advice please

Apologies if this is elsewhere, I've searched but can't find the answer I need. We own an Eldiss 185. Due to circumstances 'Parker' has been laid up for about 2 months, and, yes, the motor battery is flat. That is easily sorted, but my question is that I've seen solar powered trickle chargers that plug into the 12 v socket, and although not expensive, I was wondering if they are sufficient enough to keep the battery charged when not in use? My mum's little Clio was parked from December until mid-February, as she hadn't been well. We'd fixed her up with a small plug-in solar panel, which sat on the dashboard during hat time, and last week it started first time. So I'd say they're well worth having.
We have a similar one in the van to keep the leisure battery topped up when we use the blown air heating a lot in the winter.
