Hi, as I'm able to park my caravan on my drive I always top the battery up with the normal site cable every month or so, but I gather that it's only able to pump about 70% of full charge into battery, so removing and trickle charging in you shed is the option. Used by most of you, however as I'm disabled I would find removing my battery quite difficult, so would it be ok if I connected my separate charger to it while still in caravan battery box, I expect I would have to remove the terminals or could I leave everything as it is and just connect crocodile clips

Hello Smurf,
I think the caravan charger will do quite bit more than 70%, but it still wont fully charge it. Yes you can leave the battery in the caravan Remove the caravans terminals and simply clip your external charger to it.
I would recommend that you use a smart charger, as these will automatically protect the battery if its left on charge.
Both Aldi and Lidl do have smart chargers on sale from time to time. They do seem to be pretty good and a fair bit cheaper than the Ctek models which are also excelent.
