Battery Connection

Do you actually need to have you battery connected to tow the caravan? I have removed mine for the winter and am going to collect the van from storage today. Do I need to take the battery with me or can I bring it home and then connect the battery up?
 
If you intend to not fit the battery, make sure you isolate the battery connections so that they cannot make contact.

The reversing lights are on the 12S plug, so that could be left disconnected from the car, but the plug would have to be secured from dropping on the ground.

If the 12S plug is connected, the charging circuit will be live, hence the need to isolate the battery terminals in the battery box from each other.
