I have a Bailey California,It is equipped with a tracker and also an alarm. We returned fron France end of June, van been on starage since. The battery was fullt charges when left, visited today the battery fully discharged. This would seem to be a short length of time for it to discharge with only Tracker and alarm on.At this rate it will be a problem when parked up for 2 months in winter.Anyone else have a problem with this type of van?On previous vans no tracker etc battery still good after 4 months

Thanks

Hi Rambler,

You will need to check what other appliances may be drawing current, Two that I know can cause this are the amplified aerial for the TV, and the car type radios, that need a constant power feed to maintain the settings - there may be other items also.

I have a Bailey Senator Arizona and my battery discharged so much that it would not recharge. The one item that does not appear to be controlled by the 12V master switch is the light inside the refrigerator. If the fridge power source is not set to "no power" and the door left open for it to dry out on return it is a wonderful recipe for killing the battery. Yes a rigorous set of checks on emptying the caravan on a return should avoid this but the occasional slip up can prove costly.

Thanks for the replies will go back to the van and check if I have done one of the things suggested that may have caused the problem. The good news is that even though the battery was dead flat it has recharged will fit tomorrow and keep a closer eye on it

Thanks once again

Take a current meter with you and test the discharge current, easy job as the battery is already out.
