Battery disconnection

It may be an idea if the caravan is not going to be used over the winter. I doubt if it has an alarm or tracker so you should be okay from an insurance perspective.

Hi all we have a Warwick XL and are newbies, do we need to disconnect the leisure battery and main battery for winter please?

Thank you
Hi, welcome to the forum.
Leisure batteries need periodic charging in the cold weather, if you don't need to use a motor mover take the battery home and trickle charge it.

The Warwick XL is a motorhome van conversion. So the OP would need to ensure that the vehicles electronics were not without power as it could upset settings. If the vehicle is at home best to connect a CTEK type charger to the engine battery and charge periodically in situ. Remove leisure battery and also charge periodically when the CTEK isn’t being used on the main battery.

Hi,
Make sure battery is not being charged and switch off as many dc loads (lights etc) as you can, this will minimise any arcing at battery terminal when you take the lead off.
For reconnection of battery do the same.
