Just as an aside.....
My car has done approx 56,000 miles on diesel. This means I've generated about 150,000 kg of CO2.
To date my Stop Start function has supposedly saved 0.8kg of CO2. Is it worth it?
Of course multiply that by a few million cars and it does add up.
Are you sure that's the correct arithmetic? That's 90,123 km - my car produces 174 g/km which would only give 15,681 kg of CO2 so yours should be way under that.
Thats an average of 67mpg! Impressive!Your right, I'm wrong....duh!
Went straight from miles to kg without considering how much fuel I used.
So try again. 56,000 miles is roughly 3800l of fuel.
3800 x 2.68 = 10,184kg of CO2
Still a small saving.
It amazes me how they can be so brash, considering the chemtrail spraying that is, in all likelyhood, going to kill us all in the end. Just more bumf to close the net.A new requirement fir EVs being introduced in 2027 is a battery passport that details the materials used in a cars battery, the manufacturing processes and impact on the environment including design for recycling. Volvo are the first maker to produce a passport for one of their new models. The article also has a link to Ecobat a British company specialising in battery recycling.

It’s microplastics that will lead to mankind’s demise. They are now found in all parts of the human body, including “wills”. Hopefully they will throw the book at them and lock them up for several years!I think that's a little harsh.
There intentions may be worthy - the way the go about drawing attention to the issues is not.
A more effective campaigner is the lady who led a protest against Surrey Councils approval of a new oil well. The Supreme Court found that the Council had taken into account the environmental impact of installing the well, but had not accounted for the carbon dioxide that would be produced by burning the oil produced by the well. Interesting to see how the Council and contractor deal with the judgement. It could impact the planned Cumbrian coal mine and new North Sea licences.Hopefully they will throw the book at them and lock them up for several years! One of them was already out in bail offensive for another stunt!
At least she went about it the correct way and even though I don't agree with the Supreme Court judgement as it makes us less independent, we have no choice. In guess it will be taken to the Appeal Court as many jobs etc will be lost.A more effective campaigner is the lady who led a protest against Surrey Councils approval of a new oil well. We are not independent in oil, it’s a misconception. Our oil is sold on the world market and the product can be shipped anywhere in the world, generally at a good price that profits the producer. We then buy oil more cheaply from overseas sources. At least she went about it the correct way and even though I don't agree with the Supreme Court judgement as it makes us less independent, we have no choice. Either way, if oil imports were stopped tomorrow, there probably would not be enough oil to keep the country functioning and cost of motoring will escalate and that will affect the cost of food.We are not independent in oil, it’s a misconception. All the more reason to become less dependant on oil then...Either way, if oil imports were stopped tomorrow, there probably would not be enough oil to keep the country functioning and cost of motoring will escalate and that will affect the cost of food.
and for the economy to collapse? We all need oil whether you have an EV or not!All the more reason to become less dependant on oil then...
