We have just bought a 2005 Autotrail 635 SE. We are very pleased with the outfit but we are concerned about the bed layout format. When we pull out the bed extension base on both sides.,, including the wooden slats and pull down the four legs which lock into position we find that the legs seem quite rocky to say the least and seem that they would not take a lot of weight and collapse. Because of this we tend to use the two beds as singles which means that the base is not extended to its full extent as it was made to be used. Any advice would be appreciated.
This is our first motorhome although we have had caravans for over 25 years.
Regards,
Alan H

I've heard mixed comments about the build quality of recent Auto-Trails, but the older ones were pretty well bomb-proof, so I'm sure the bed base was originally designed to be rock solid.
I'm not familiar with the bed construction myself - can you see whether the points where the legs hinge down have any adjustment - perhaps bolts that have worked loose over time?
If you can identify just where the excess movement is, that'll help.
Having bought a motorhome with a double bed, you certainly want to keep the option of using it - and feeling safe in it!
