Belleek Caravan Park, Co. Mayo

Hello, has anyone been to Belleek caravan park in co. Mayo. We are thinking of going for 2 weeks in July and as it is going to be our main holiday and it will take about 5/6 hours to get there would like be of info on place and area.

Many regards Keith & Jenny.

Hi Jennifer. Sorry, but I only know of two Belleek's in Ireland, both in the North. There's one in Co.Armagh and one in Co.Fermanagh.

Not familiar with the first, but the town of Belleek in Co.Fermanagh is nice and set close to some of the best lakeland scenery in the UK.

Mayo, in the Republic is also nice with some excellent, dramatic coatline.

Whichever, you should enjoy you time there.

Regards, Dave(Yorkshire)

Hi Jenny and Keith,

Hope your all keeping well, had a quick check for you and it seems Belleek caravan park has been given good reviews, its a 4 star site. Heres a couple of links for you, the 1st is an Irish forum mainly motorhomers. When you click on go to Co. Mayo for the reviews. The 2nd is the Belleek website.Hope this helps.

Hi Jennifer,

We went to Belleek Caravan Park Co Mayo last August for 4 days. It is really clean and well kept. I know the area quite well as my family lived in Co Mayo for a few years. they have a festival in July in Ballina and the craic does be great at it. Hope you are not too worried about the weather though as Mayo is the wetest county in Ireland! Not too sure about spending 2 weeks there either I think you may get a bit bored and want to move on a bit further south. Fantastic beaches along the coast and Achil island is a must if you are into bodyboarding or surfing.

Hello again Karen, we had heard about Mayo being very wet, the other site we had thought about was in Wicklow Hidden Valley it looks as if it would be a good place for the boys with fishing and boating, just can't make up our mind. I checked out the review site Stevie mentioned and Belleek Park gets some good remarks haven't been able to find any on Hidden Valley yet.

We'll have to decide soon as the 12th fortnight is always very busy.

Let you know what we decide on.

Keith & Jenny
