Good Question, Simple answer, I am cutting out the 12v socket to instal an RJ45 socket and dont want to scrap something i pay £40 - £50 for. Thats why i am asking the community.

Why not start with a blank plate?
Under £4.
Its easy enough to add an F-type if you need that as well.

Good Question, and a simple answer, As i have no other available positions i wish to convert the current TV/SAT sockets to the SAT/12v socket and convert it. I still need the TV socket and i prefer to use the screw fixing to connect a tv ariel. I see your point of view. i have blanks, i have F connectors, i have hole saws, just wanted a easy option but a very good point, cost me nothing then,
