I am trying to find a breakers yard for caravans. I inadvertantly connected my battery up wrongly and have ruined my (KT9B0) battery unit in the van. It tells me my battery is always topped up even when it is flat. I have tried to buy new but find due to the age of the van the part is obsolete,so I am hoping to get one from a scrapped van. If anyone can help I would be grateful as the rest of the van is fine and I do not want to part with it yet.

I can't help you with a breaker but I have a feeling that all the Swift 'vans from the early '90s used the KT9 charger, and possibly the Abbey 'vans too.

This should hopefully make them a bit thicker on the ground.

Not sure about the KT9 but the KT12 was common in 90/1 and assume it's similar and made by 'Tremaco' for 'Plug in Systems' of Hull. PinS is still going but Tremeco sadly finished just a couple of years ago.

I know the KT12 for it's day was a good unit but totally behind the times now, I would buy new and go for a modern charger from PinS or Sargent is another popular make today. However the old ones are also simple in design and a good TV repair van should be able to fix it with ease.

BTW, Bessacarr had nothing to do with Swift until the 1997 season.
