Hi, having to be organised for work sake, we are planning next years trips , we always go away for the Oct half term as it is our son's birthday, looking forward to Baltic Wharf in Bristol this year. We went to York a few years back and we loved it, hotelling not caravanning, he wants to go to Yorkshire again , we wonder what people think is the best CC site in Yorkshire, we only use their sites after a few not great private sites, we are not ready for CL's yet as were all quite new to this world. Thank you any advice given. PS Any idea when we can book next years sites with the Caravan Club ?

Have a look at Brown Moor at Hawes and West Ayton near Scarborough. You can usually book the sites from around the 9th December, the exact date is likely to be in this months magazine.

Hi, I will second West Ayton Nr Scarborough, and since you have been to York, Rowntree Park is excellent for walking into the centre but can be prone to flooding in extreamly wet weather.

West Ayton gets some good comments on this forum, last posting Oct.11th. Have been to Rowntree Park which is handy for walking into York but intend to try Beechwood Grange next time and take advantage of the Park and Ride nearby.

Depends on the age of your son. Does he want seaside, donkeys, Sealife Centre and miniature naval battles in Peasholm Park etc. at Scarborough or Railway and York museums, York Eye (ferris wheel, Minster and history in York?

Brown Moor is great for walking, Wensleydale Cheese and things rural.

Hi

We used to live in Yorkshire until end of last year. Have stopped at both Rowntree and Beechwood Grange. Rowntree is convenient for walking into York. Beechwood Grange we think has a more relaxed atmosphere. We stopped at Beechwood Grange on a regular basis for weekends. Park and ride not too far away, also supermarket next to park and ride.
