Best Route from Chester to Swansea : A483 ?

Hello

will be taking caravan to Gowerton CC Site in September; would welcome comments as to best route from Chester to Swansea. A483 looks most direct but never towed this before.

We used the A483 in June last year. We joined the A483 at Welshpool and had a pleasant tow down to the Gower. The road immediately south of Newtown is a bit twisty but did not cause any problems.

Hi Ann & John

Have a look at the route taking the A483 to Builth Wells and then using the A470 and A465 to the M4 at Neath. This is probably the easiest drive with straighter roads and dual carriageways although you won't have such a scenic drive!
