Best way to Crystal Palace C.C. Site

I was wondering if anyone would have any good advice on which route to take to Crystal Palace Caravan Club Site. I will be travelling from Blackpool. Is it easier to exit M25 at Junction 7 then to take the M23 then A23 etc, or to come down the M1 and through London? I have tried the RAC route planner and it suggests the later route. Any help at all will be gratefully recieved. Many thanks in advance.

I would use the following route based on Truck driving experience.......

M25--M11--A406--A12--A102M--Blackwall Tunnel .......

All dual carriage to this point.

A206--A2211--A21--A205-A212.......

Single carriage congested for last 10 miles to the site.

I would follow the route in the CC handbook. We went to Crystal Palace in May and the route was fairly simple to follow but the roads were exceptionally busy and very urban. The double roundabout at the top of the hill where the entrance is, should be carefully negotiated. I certainly wouldn't go through London as the streets are very narrow and busy. Don't fancy getting the outfit stuck in London!

Hi

We went to crystal Palace for the Marathon, from Cheshire, M6/M40/M25/M4 to junct 2 (Kew) then followed the South Circular (A205) all the way till you pick up the CC instructions (from the A205), a few one way systems but we had no trouble with them, South circular is well signposted.

Have fun!

Al.
