Hello all, I want to but a Wheel clamp for my Caravan, can anyone give me advice on what they feel is the best (seurity ease of use), many thanks, Kim.
My caravan (a Series 6 Pageant Monarch) came with the Alko wheel lock already fitted with the bracket on the hub and I paid a lot of money for the actual lock/clamp. Very disappointed with it because you have to park your van in exactly the right place for it to fit. Difficult if you are also trying to level the van on a bumpy pitch.
After looking around I came across the Bulldog Euroclamp. Cost me about
Have you looked at chains instead - there are a number Sold Secure rated (but doubtless would also not survive a determined rogue any better than a clamp.)
The chain is much easier to store and carry and may avoid diggiculty with some of the confined wheel arches on modern vans with wider tyres.
Until 18 months ago I used the Bulldog Centaur . A real beast of a clamp but met with Insurers approval. It was good but very heavy. Now I use the Al-ko wheel locks which came as standard on our T/A. Personally I have no problem fitting them even when levelling up. They are neat and don't take up much space.
BUT I do admit to carrying a trolley jack just in case I have to jack up the van to fit the rear one!
