Beware Insurance Clauses!!

Hi everyone,i just picked up on something which I was not aware of previously. Some mainstream insurance policies in respect to travel insurance and hospitalisation due to accident and causng damage have clauses of "Not insured" not only for driving a ski boat or mountaineering or scuba diving but for "Towing a Vehicle". I was with Goldfish who did not have such clauses but Direct Line & Tesco both appear to.

Taking this to its natural conclusion towing a caravan may make these policies a bit weak!

Hi Andy

Good point. I worked as a claims man in the insurance industry for 38 years. Some Insurers run a scheme whereby the employee who rejects the most claims wins the monthly bonus!

Thus it is absolutely imperative the Insurer is told you will be towing a caravan. The reference to "vehicle" is far to wide in my view and some unlucky person may well come unstuck.

Cheers

Alan
