Thinking of going there in the May half term. Never been before and will be travelling from Derbyshire. Are the roads resonable with no steep hills, narrow roads etc (only second time towing) and is there enough to keep a four and seven year old girls busy?

Thanks in advance

Hi there if you travel via Shrewsbury A5 to Corwen then take road to Bala at Bala turn right for Porthmadoc you should not have much trouble, The Cob approaching Porthmadoc is narrow as is the town,

Plenty to do in the area, have a good trip

Havent stayed on this site but we had a walk around while we were in the area. Its right on the beach which seems to go on for ever! It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is next to a nature reserve but I think it would also be very quiet. If this suits you then thats fine but if your girls want a bit more entertainment, pools etc then have a look at Haven Greenacres which is about half a mile down the road. It is still on the same great beach but its in the village of Morfa Buchan ( I think thats how its spelt!) which has a shop, a chip shop and a pub. I dont know what date in may the school hols are but if you look on their website for camping and caravaning offers you should find some good deals. Portmadoc is an interesting town (main attraction is the steam railway) and there is lots to do in the area (including Portmerion which is just outside the town). A lovely area, highly recommended and worth the stress of getting there.
