we want to take our 3 year old and 7month old to see the lights over 1/2 term can anyone recommend a site nearish to Blackpool (no further than Garstang)

CC site at blackpool is ok but may be busy. I have not stayed as i live in garstang but the following get a good reputation round here

we always use Kneps farm at Cleveleys. Not the cheapest, but the toilet block is the best we have ever seen.

If you want to go to Blackpool for the illuminations , I would defiantly recommend booking in advance. We visit the illuminations each year and have used many different sites. If you want a site with all amenities (Club house etc) try Marton Mere, not cheap but a good family site. Alternatively we have used pipers height which is a bit quieter or our Favourite is the CC at Blackpool South.

Gareth, Try Windy harbour, we believe its a popular site so you may have to book in advance. Number should be in any sites book or on ukcampsite.co.uk

Gary G has given a bit of info on Blackpool. Willow grove is now a static only site. That's a shame it was a realy nice site and one we always had in mind to go back to.

highly recommed caravan club site 5mins from main attractions. use have to use your car or get taxie in to town plenty car parks.
