Blackpool South CC Site or Marton Mere Holiday Village?

I promised I would take the kids to see the blackpool illuminations in October. Narrowed the sites down to the Blackpool South CC site or the Marton Mere Haven site.......any advice?

hi stopped in a static on marton mere couple years ago ,walked round tourers , cramped in no space looked like touring side just an afterthougt we would never take van there

Been to both and would definitley recommend C.C. site. Even taking the clubhouse and entertainment available at Marton Mere into consideration I would not return there in a hurry. Anyway I would imagine if you are going to that area you will be intending to spend time actually in the town where there is plenty of entertainment. I would advise booking quickly if you choose the C.C. site, it is always busy at this time of year. We are going there early in October for a week, when I went to book online it showed my preferred dates were fully booked. I phoned the site direct and they were able to fit my dates in, must have been cancellations not showing on website.

One last word of advice for Blackpool ..... take out a bank loan before you go 🙂

Thanks for the info. Have booked the CC site for 5 nights.

Robert, if you are there between 7th and 11th October, look out for a Bailey Ranger 550/6, towed by a Fiat Multipla. Bound to be a few beers in the fridge.

We will be there 5th to 12th, so will definitely keep an eye out for you. We will be in Bailey Indiana & Freelander.
