Blair Drummond caravan park

Hi Iain,

Yes we were there for our two night stop over on the way to Sutherland at the end of June. It's a smashing site, but, since it's now affiliated, I don't think we will be using it again.

We had quite a bad experience with globules of melted tar amongst the gravel on the hardstandings. The wardens were aware of it, but quite honestly they didn't want to know. We could move pitch if we wanted to. We didn't have much choice when we arrived, as the site was full, but as this happened on day two, we were'nt going to bother. Needless to say the stuff walked in on our shoes and stuck on the carpet on the caravan. We were furious, and to add insult to injury, they didn't even have anything to get it off!

We are quite sure that if this was still in the hands of the CC they would have closed the pitch. But with alot of municiple sites, they don't care as long as they get your money!

Please don't be put off by this, its still a great site. We've used it many times on our way up from Norfolk. It's just a shame, maybe we were just unlucky.

Hi Iain

We were at this site in may and found it a nice site, as Wendy said I think the standards have dropped from the usual CC standards. The site itself is not very child friendly, there is a play area, but it's placed out of the way and you can't keep an eye on your children. On the plus side, you only have to pay once to the Blair Drummond Safari Park and your able to visit as many times as you like while your at the campsite and the play area is excellent.
