Blending in tax!!!

Local authorities in Somerset Devon and Cornwall have decided to introduce a 10% surcharge on white caravans in a year's time.
A spokesman said that if touring caravan owners painted their caravans in traditional camouflage colours to blend with the natural surroundings there would be no extra charge but after complaints from local residents the decision was taken to introduce the levy a year from today. Best get the paintbrushes out

I understand that the councils are trying to do their best to help make the new tax more acceptable to the majority of caravanners by assisting with the cost of the respray/painting.

Apparently they are giving away free (for a limited period only) 1Kg pots of elbow grease to assist with the cleaning and pre paint preparation, that we all know is essential for a good paint job.

It is of course necessary to ensure that all traces of elbow grease are removed prior to the painting using a proprietary spirit based cleaner, preferably stirred with a left hand screwdriver.

Dy'er know Colin how perceptive! If only I'd looked online before I went out this am. and bought the paint, could have saved a few bob! ( Cos I always trust moderators advice?)

.......I was given the heads up on this some time ago by a friend who lives in Somerset.

I see Halfords are already gearing up with a spray can which should make the job easier
.......2 cans should be sufficient to do my van.
I will have to check if they require the windows to be done as well.
