Blow back

When using the loo in my Lunar Delta, 8 out of 10 times when i push the slide over i get a blow back as the preasure has built up in the tank. I know why but dont know haw to solve the problem. When you push the cassete in to the van a slide pushes down a spring which has what looks like a foam polo mint on it which seals the vent. The foam should drop down , but sticks in place , so instead of letting the pressure out it keeps it in , then when you bend down and push the slide over if there is any flush left on the slide you get a blast. Any ideas on how to stop the seal sticking ????

Give the asembly a good squirt of silicone lubricant, same with the blade operating mechanism and all moving parts on the cassette.

Thanks Damian, ill give it a go. Would you dry out the polo seal first or will it do it by just a spray.

Hi Graham, I would just give it a good dose of silicone and work the valves up and down to ensure the lubricant is well distributed.
As you do it, you may well feel it free up somewhat.
Just wipe away any excess before refitting the cassette.
It is also worthwhile just giving the underside of the fixed installation where the cassette meets the underside of the bowl a spray as well, and the operating mechanism for the blade

May I also suggest laying off the sprouts, onions, and curry. Oh, and being careful with naked flames.
