Blown air heating swift challenger

Hello everyone, hope you all ok. I have just bought a Challenger 450/5 1990 model. It does have some info with it but I dont have any info about the following. Today I would like to ask a couple of questions please.

Question 1...How do I set up my blown air heating system. Starting it up and switching off, can I run from gas and electric.

Question 2...Does the battery charger need any setting up or does it work when connected to the battery and ofcourse the mains.

I dont have any written info about either questions so would be gratefull for any info you can give me. Thanks in advance to all.

You can find a manual for hopefully your gas fire? on my website, www.arcsystems.biz, it's the SPL3002/3000 one.

This covers what should be the 'Truma-vent' fan fitted to your van.

If however it's been upgraded to the Carver 'Fanmaster' blown air systems, there's also a manual for that.

All manuals are free to download for personal use.

The charger fitted to your van could be a reasonable one giving 13.8v at an adaquate amperage on a constant basis. These are all designed to be left connected as 13.8v cannot over charge and damage the battery.

Being 1990 it could also be of lesser ability, same applies as above but you would be well advised to buy a decent charger to keep your battery in better nick.

A good one can be obtained from Lidl for as little as
