Bodmin C&CC Club Site

Any opinions on the above site and also the town of Bodmin, as this will be our first visit to Cornwall. Travelling down from Durham overnight, and leaving home approx. 10.00pm and will be looking for a nap somewhere after the Avonmouth bridge.

Spooky.

not long left there

The Bodmin area is a good base for lots of things to do - eden project, heligan, national trust lanhydrock house and gardens plus lots more. Eden obviously good if it's persisting down with rain. Site wise - ok but you may need some bits of wood to get level it's quite a sloping site in the second field. Showers and toilets fine clean with plenty of hot water, but perhaps you could persuade them to open ALL the showers in the ladies my wife queued for 20 mins for a shower this morning, 4 of them were closed from the inside with no one in them.

Nearby ASDA, Morrisons, Sainsburys a bit further away, good fish and chip shop the golden fry far side of bodmin. Grass will be rather wet and slippy given the weekend we've just had. On the whole an enjoyable weekend, will be going back later in the year.

I take it it is not Mena then, I looked on the C&CC site and there is one listed for Bodmin.

There is a Morrisons in Bodmin which is large and well stocked. We used the Asda at St Austell which is always full and manic sometimes. So I'd recommend Morrisons.

You're quite central for all places of interest etc. I can't really comment about Bodmin as we only used Morrisons!

However, there's some great coves for swimming, we particularly liked Port Lunney Cove. Very smalll but beautiful. Par Sands is quite near but we wern't over keen on it as it is over looked by a factory of some sort and there's loads and I mean loads of slimey sea weed on that beach!

We went to Padstow a few times, again very busy in peak season but really nice. One of my particular favourite places is Tintagel. Which isn't all that far from Bodmin.

I'm sure you'll like it.
