Hi Jo-anne

I have a classic with easy alloy poles, so simple to erect as the roof supports, front members and legs are all connected.

All zips are very strong and the ladder system for pegging out comensates for uneaven ground. All in all a great awning.

We too have a Bradcot Classic with easy poles and also have the Bradcot porch awning, used mainly on short weekend trips and in autumn/winter for somewhere to store muddy boots etc.

As Rod G says, all in all it's a great awning and you get what you pay for.

Easy alloy poles - highly recommended.

Brilliant awning. Very easy to erect - I can do it alone in 20 mins, but lots easier (but not much quicker)with help.

We have a Classis too with Easy Alloy poles. Excellent quality and a lovely fit on our van. If you're thinking of getting one, you won't be disappointed.

Sadly this week we've been caught up in some localised flooding and the garage had standing water. The awning was on the floor so it got wet and when we opened it up to dry it out, we found mildew on it. Must have got wet at some other time and we'd not realised. Luckily though, only one panel seems to be badly stained, the rest is not too bad.

Anyone got any tips on how to get rid of the stains ? :-(

We also have one, but just to be different ours is the 'Active' with easy alloy frame. Agree with all comments.

jo-anne, I have an Isabella( which came with the van), and a Dorema President vario(which I hate, but is the biggest awning I've seen), but having had a bradcot before, if they made one as big as the Dorema, that is what I'd have.As for the Isabella, well I've heard them described as the Rolls-Royce of awnings.I'd have thought perhaps Lada might be nearer the mark! Go for Bradcot.

we have a bradcot size1050(it fits an eldiss superstorm)because of its size we have the steel poles which are quite heavy.We have had it for six months and only took it out of the box last weekend for a trial erection on our front garden .it took my wife and myself and the odd beer about an hour and half to sort out what pole went where, then with the aid of seven differnt colours of electrical tape we coluor coded them for easier erection when we take it and use it for the first time in cornwall next week.The instructions were completely useless.We only managed to run the awning through the rail to get an idea how it will look before those ever looming black clouds burst out with the wet stuff,so we still havent seen it yet in all its glory,incidently we use the suncamp 260 every weekend and apart from the sides being draughty in bad weather its a cheap(

Hi,

We had a full size Trio and a Bradcot Portico porch awning for our van.I liked the Trio but hated the Bradcot.It took longer to put up the Bradcot than the Trio. One of the the alloy poles bent in the wind and the roof poles kept coming out of the holders. Bradcot customer services were none existent!.

Having now changed the van we have a Isabella full awning (brilliant quality and easy to erect) and a Fiamma caravan store instead of a porch awning,love the Fiamma but obviously not everybody's choice.

Hi jo-anne, we had a bradcot classic with our last van but sold it because size difference of new van. We now have an Isabella Magnum, but to be perfectly honest, if it had the bradcot easy alloy pole system (in a perfect world) I would be very happy. The Isabella has poles,poles and more poles, whereas the bradcot system is a no-brainer, in fact its idiot proof.Get the bradcot you wont be disappointed.

We have the Bradcot SActive though as is only a small van only a 775

If you get one and I wouldnt swap ours for anything,take the time before you go to assemble the corner protectors and then its a doddle

We have the easy alloy,poles come in 3 sets already fastened,one left,one right side and middle set,quite obvious which is which, absolutely no need to mark

The lock system is a doddle to use and really is one handed,adjustable ladders make pegging on uneven ground easier,very pleased with awning,never used storm straps and never felt we needed to

We are on our third Bradcot Classic. We've just changed 'vans and the awning is the correct size for the new one. It's a 990 with fibreglass poles.

We've had the easy alloy ones on the previous two but the fibreglass win on all counts. They weigh exactly the same as the alloy but are stronger and more flexible.

Last summer in Biarritz the site was hit by some very strong winds. A lot of the awnings around us were completely wrecked and a lot suffered buckled poles. We were fortunate not to incur any damage. Just a bit of re-pegging to put it back straight. I put it down to the fibreglass poles and the Wurmi's

We also have a classic 960 with easy alloy poles, so simple to erect, The rep who sold it gave us some advise when putting up, put the bottom spike on the uprights on the 3rd or 4th position on the ladder this allows you to get the best tension on the material.

Like Jim I,ve got a Bradcot Classic for a Superstorm and they work well together. I also went for the steel poles because of the awning size and feel more comfortable with it's strength.

My first attempt to put it up lasted about 90 minutes and a similar time to put it away but it's worth the effort as attached to the Elddiss it's big enough to have a ball in.

For weekend work I'm going to get a PDQ . I spent a lot of time looking for the right awning and believe I made the right choice with the Bradcot (plus I had a good deal with my van supplier).

Bradcot Active 900 with Easy alloy poles, fantastic, and very funny watching people struggle with theyre awnings after ive put mine up in half an hour on my own.

I've got a classic 1080 with steel poles because we only usually go away in the winter and I wouldn't like to use the alloy poles on such a big awning in the wind. We have been in gale force 8 winds for weeks on end down in Cornwall with no problem, we've had 4 foot of snow and the only down side to that was having to go out and brush the snow off the roof because of the sheer weight of it!! This is the second classic one we've had, we sold the first one with the first van when we sold it. We've also got a portico XL with the easy alloy frame and a portico plus with the easy alloy frame. The annexe that fits the classic also fits the XL so if we are going away and the weather is mild and we're only going for a week we take the XL and annexe (for the dog). If we're only going for the weekend we take the portico plus. We are going to France and Spain for 6 months this winter and will take the portico plus to use on the way down and the classic plus annexe for when we get there. Best of all though is that the warranty is really good, we damaged our first classic the first time we used it but Bradcot repaired it at no cost to us. Also we got sent a brand new Portico XL after we damaged that one (tried to put it up in a gale!!) so all in all other than self inflicted problems they are brilliant. It does take a while to sort the steel poles out, but once that's done its really easy. Mark them with permanent markers, better than tape as you can actually write on them, centre upright etc!
