hi rayIs there any chance that when you braked that the caravan handbrake activated. I had a 2007 Brightstar and the handbrake was the sprung type that comes on automatically if you lift it slightly i.e. it has no ratchett type system. When the van braked and the coupling was depressed that the handbrake hit the coupling or Alko stabaliser and was forced on.
Hi RayAlan, it is possible that when the hitch fully depressed under the harsh braking that it pushed back sufficiently to cause the handbrake to move slightly thus applying it. When you stopped round the corner was the handbrake lever up or in its normal released position?
