Brilliant Portable Vacuum

Just bought a hand held mains Electrolux vacuum cleaner from Argos. It not cheap at £40, but is so powerful it lifted the rug off our lounge floor!!. We tried one of these re-chargeable ones, total waste of time. It only lasted about 8 minutes before the battery went flat; which is hopeless if you have loads of bits of grass to try and get up.

Really interested to read your post John. We've been looking for a vac for the van and had seen these in Argos and wondered what they were like. Think we'll get one before our next outing now you've recommended it. It'll come in useful for hoovering the car out too especially if it's as powerful as you say. Got a few spare pennies now as we've just had our 4 night Bank Holiday break to Filey cancelled by the site as it's waterlogged - boohoo!

We leave ours in the van, as it's light. Pretty powerful and with the long lead, we can give the car interior a quick clean when on a longer site stopover.

I can highly recommend the Black & Decker Cyclonic mains powered hand vacuum cleaner, I use it for the stairs at home, the car and the caravan. It has a 900W motor and I run it off a static inverter connected to the car battery when in the van without mains electric.
